Aww Jianjun,

I still buy books, too many of them. How could I forfeit books? But I don't buy as many *work* books as I used to do.

As you say, the smell of books, holding them in your hand, taking them with you everywhere you go, that's irreplaceable. I tried reading books on a small PDA I had, but I gave up. Electronic alternatives... no thank you, not for now at least.

But if I'm driving solo long distances, I like to listen to an audio book in the car... Keeps me company.

Nadine,

Yes it's interesting but true. I'd say translators are amongst the first to adopt a paperless work approach. :D

I couldn't remember when's the last time I ever translated on a piece of paper.

We don't read any newspapers either, since so many of them have online (often Ad-less) versions. But books can never be replaced by their electronic counterparts. I love the smell of the print and the softness of the page...

:)
